Philip Wesen, DVM
Dr. Wesen always knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Veterinarian. He received his undergraduate and DVM degree from Washington State University. His first job as a veterinarian was with Roger Mauer, at Mauer Animal Clinic. After moving to California for several years, he realized that Las Vegas was where he needed to be and moved back in 1991 to become a co-owner with Dr. Doughty in Mauer Animal Clinic. Dr. Wesen’s special interests include small animal internal medicine, surgery, and assisting in strengthening the bond between pets and their owners.
It is Dr. Wesen’s kind, compassionate touch and heart which makes him a truly special veterinarian. Dr. Wesen has three sons and has been married to his wife Janice since 1987. His home has always been filled with pets and currently includes three dogs, two cats, several fish, and many desert tortoises. He enjoys relaxing by the ocean or riding his dirt bike through the mountain trails of Utah.
Shayne Randall, DVM
Dr. Randall served as a relief veterinarian for Mauer Animal Clinic during 2011 and 2012 and, as of January 2014, we are pleased to announce that she has become a regular fixture. Dr. Randall brings a great deal of experience, skill, and talents to our animal hospital. She received her BA from the University of Arizona and her D.V.M. from Kansas State University in 1991 and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She has always had dogs, cats and rabbits, and got her first horse while in high school. She also raised sheep and steers and was president of her school chapter of Future Farmers of America. She met her husband Brent, while working for her future father-in-law, also a veterinarian. They have been married since 1988 and have four children. She can be found watching and cheering on her children at their sporting events, boating, baking or cooking.
Kimberly Green Robinson, DVM
Dr. Kim Robinson is originally from Missouri and has been practicing since 1996 on the east coast (primarily the Carolina’s). She is a compassionate, dedicated veterinarian with over 20 years experience with small animal, exotic, and emergency medicine. She received her DVM degree from the University of Missouri, in 1996. Kim is married with 3 human children, and 7 of the four legged variety. She loves all animals, but Bichons, Dobes, Eskies, Jack Russells and Huskies are a few of the breeds she has had hanging around. She and her family are very involved in church and have interests in theater and outdoor activities,especially running. Her veterinarian interests include behavior and dermatology, as well as recently becoming certified in abdominal ultrasonography. Kim has a love for all creatures & we are pleased to have her as a part of the Mauer Animal Clinic Team.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Our lead licensed Veterinary Technician – Tina joined our team as a receptionist in 2004. Tina has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2007. She also has three dogs.
One of our newest additions to the Mauer family. Ary has two dogs and one cat. Ary is proficient in Spanish.

Active with us since 2015. Her passion and pleasure is her exotic pets which range from snakes, reptiles, lizards as well as cats and dogs.
Veterinary Assistant & Receptionist
Jessi started with us in 2000 while in high school as a volunteer. Through out the years Jessi has ventured out to other places, such as Working at Texas A&M College of Veterinary medicine and teaching here in Las Vegas. We are lucky to have Jessi back on our team since 2011. Her pet household consists of 3 dogs and two cats.
Started with us in 2011, She has also worked as a veterinary assistant. Ashley’s pet family consists of one pit-bull mix, one pug, one flame point siamese cat and one snake.
Angie joined out team in 2015. A native Las Vegan, Angie is mom to one long haired Chihuahua, Sugar, also known to frequent the reception area.
Louise originally worked at Mauer in the early 1990’s. We were lucky enough to have her return to us in 2015. Louises’ pet family consists of three pets 1 Rottweiler and 2 cats.
Sean came to our team as an experienced veterinary assistant in 2015. Sean’s animal family consists of three dogs two cats and one python.
Natalie Is studying pre-veterinary medicine at University of Nevada, Reno. She has one Chihuahua named Twinkie.
In keeping with our motto “our clients & employees are like family” Kole is the youngest son of Janice & Dr. Wesen. Kole is pursuing a degree in Micro-Biology & Immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno. When not pursuing his education he keeps busy at Mauer Animal Clinic as a veterinary assistant. His pet household consists of 3 dogs, one cat, 3 Koi fish and numerous desert tortoises.
Ashley started with us as a volunteer while she was in high school, became an official employee in 2015 as a veterinary assistant. Ashley has a small farm consisting of snakes, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits ducks, as well as 3 cats and 3 dogs.

Stays mostly behind the scenes at Mauer Animal Clinic, managing the finances, human resources, facility & equipment acquisition & maintenance, as well as marketing. When not busy at Mauer Animal Clinic or taking care of family and pets (see above) she is known to rev up her Harley and head out on the open road.
