Philip Wesen, DVM
Veterinarian, Owner
Dr. Wesen always knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Veterinarian. He received his undergraduate and DVM degree from Washington State University. His first job as a veterinarian was with Roger Mauer at Mauer Animal Clinic. After moving to California for several years, he realized that Las Vegas was where he needed to be and moved back in 1991 to become an owner of Mauer Animal Clinic. Dr. Wesen’s special interests include small animal internal medicine, surgery, and assisting in strengthening the bond between pets and their owners.
It is Dr. Wesen’s kind, compassionate touch, and heart that makes him a truly special veterinarian. Dr. Wesen has three sons and has been married to his wife, Janice, since 1987. His home has always been filled with pets and currently includes three dogs, two cats, several fish, and many desert tortoises. He enjoys relaxing by the ocean or riding his dirt bike through the mountain trails of Utah.
Shayne Randall, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Randal has been an Associate Veterinarian since 2011. She brings a great deal of experience, skill, and talent to our animal hospital. She received her BA from the University of Arizona and her D.V.M. from Kansas State University in 1991 and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She has always had dogs, cats, and rabbits, and she got her first horse while in high school. She also raised sheep and steers and was president of her school chapter of Future Farmers of America. She met her husband, Brent, while working for her future father-in-law, also a veterinarian. They have been married since 1988 and have four children. She can be found watching and cheering on her children at their sporting events, boating, baking, or cooking.
Kimberly Green Robinson, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Kim Robinson is originally from Missouri and has been practicing since 1996 on the east coast (primarily the Carolinas). She is a compassionate, dedicated veterinarian with over 20 years of experience with small animal, exotic, and emergency medicine. She received her DVM degree from the University of Missouri in 1996. Kim is married with three human children and 7 of the four-legged variety. She loves all animals, but Bichons, Dobes, Eskies, Jack Russells, and Huskies are a few of the breeds she has had hanging around. She and her family are very involved in church and have interests in theater and outdoor activities, especially running. Her veterinarian interests include behavior and dermatology, and she has recently become certified in abdominal ultrasonography. Kim has a love for all creatures & we are pleased to have her as a part of the Mauer Animal Clinic Team.
Nick Wesen, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Nick Wesen, DVM, is a Las Vegas native and 3rd generation veterinary graduate from Washington State University. Dr. Nick enjoys building relationships with his patients and clients alike. His professional interests include neurology, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedics. When not at the clinic, Dr. Nick can be found spoiling his own 4 legged children, currently including four cats, a golden retriever poodle mix, and an off-track thoroughbred, or cheering on the Golden Knights and Raiders.
He is beyond excited to work with the team that helped get him into veterinary medicine and give back to the Las Vegas community.
Lindsay
Practice Manager
From an early age, Lindsay knew that her calling was to work with animals when she grew up. From sneaking her family dog into her room as a child to housing every stray that came her way as an adult, there were never any other options for her. She got hired for her first job as a kennel attendant and proceeded to grow and develop in the industry for 9 years before becoming the Practice Manager at Mauer Animal Clinic! As a single mom of four kids, most of her time outside of work is spent with them, but she does love to country line dance and two-step any chance that she can get! She also is an avid reader and loves spending time with her four dogs (Bailey, Matt, Gryffindor, and Hufflepuff) while sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine!
